Trauma and PTSD

Trauma can interrupt your life, take away your peace, and rob you of joy. Memories of traumatic events can intrude on your daily life making you feel horrified, panicked, ashamed and disgusted. Avoiding reminders of the trauma can restrict your life, dull your experience, and make the world seem unsafe. The intensity of emotions related to trauma can make it difficult to interact with others, difficult to focus, and drain you of hope for the future. Familiar places may seem unsafe and different as you are constantly on guard for threats or possible reminders of trauma. You may think that you are no longer yourself and that you are no longer connected to anyone or anything.

Treatment at Thriving Point includes evidence-based trauma-resolving techniques targeted at regaining a sense of safety, security and self.
